Galvanised Steel Bollard – 900mm Bolt-Down Post
The SVL galvanised steel bollard is intended for sites where a permanent post is needed to define a boundary and help keep vehicles away from vulnerable areas. Its plain industrial finish is well suited to car parks, warehouses, delivery yards, stockrooms and distribution centers.
Manufactured from 114mm-diameter circular hollow-section steel, the bollard stands 900mm high and has a welded flat top cap. A circular base plate allows it to be surface mounted on a suitable concrete substrate.
This is a straightforward, cost-conscious option for functional commercial and industrial areas where a fixed steel bollard is appropriate.

Where to Use This Galvanised Bollard
The bollard can be positioned where a visible rigid post is needed to support route control or protect a specific part of the site. Typical applications include:
- the edges of car parking and vehicle areas;
- warehouse and stockroom routes;
- delivery yards and dispatch zones;
- service entrances and door approaches;
- locations beside walls, corners or columns;
- areas around plant, equipment or other fixed assets;
- restricted-access and keep-clear zones.
Position and spacing should be based on the width of the route, vehicle movements, pedestrian access and the asset behind the bollard.
Galvanised Finish for Exposed Locations
The zinc coating helps protect the underlying steel from corrosion caused by moisture and weather exposure. This makes the bollard suitable for many external locations as well as functional indoor areas where a durable, non-decorative finish is preferred.
For a more architectural appearance at customer-facing entrances or building frontages, consider the Stainless Steel Bollard.
Bolt-Down Installation
The circular base plate is designed to be anchored to sound concrete. The condition and thickness of the slab, the distance from its edges and the intended position of the bollard should be checked before the fixings are selected.
Fixing bolts are available separately. Where the proposed location has asphalt, block paving, damaged concrete or an uncertain foundation, the substrate should be assessed before installation. A suitable concrete foundation may be required.
Selecting the Appropriate Bollard
This model is a rigid fixed post suited to straightforward boundary definition and asset protection. The expected frequency and severity of vehicle contact should be considered before it is specified.
Where repeated contact, recoverable deflection or a verified impact rating is required, another system may be more appropriate. SVL can advise on alternatives including the Impact Safe Post, Safestop Bollard 15 and Flexcore Bollard.
